Christina Wright - our master trainer

Equine career:

Christina WrightChristina's entire adult life has evolved around horses. She started her horse career at 16 as an assistant trainer and exercise rider for a quarter horse racing breeding/trainer. After suffering a serious injury, she worked at various stables and breeders. She also managed a horse trail outfitter.

At 18 she started training her own horses. At the age of 23 she bought 160 acres of land outside of Alix and developed it over the years to what is now: The Stables at South Molton. Over the past 12 years she has been developing a blood line of reliable, sound minded, athletic quarter horses with exceptional temperament qualities.

Christina's role at South Molton is managing the entire equine operations. She personally trains all of our horses.

Non-Equine career:

Christina's non-equine career always had one goal: earn money to develop South Molton and ultimately become a full time horse breeder and trainer.

Christina worked for various large companies in the Oil and Gas business with her career focusing on Environmental Cleanup/Remediation.

She successfully launched her own environmental remediation start-up, Wright Environmental Solutions. She sold Wright Environmental Solutions in 2005 and began to focus on remaking her equine business into our current model under the name The Stables at South Molton.

Personal side:

  • Has lived in Fort Saint John, BC; Windsor, Ontario; Edmonton, Drumheller, & Grande Prairie, Alberta; London (UK) and currently resides in Alix, Alberta
  • She retired from the Environmental Clean-up field fulfilling a lifelong dream to become full-time horse breeder/trainer

Bill Weber

Equine career:

Bill Weber and RitaBill has been in the industry for only a short period of time. However, that has allowed him to view the industry from an outside perspective. In his early observations it seemed to him that little has changed in the way people buy and sell horses since the days of Wyatt Earp.

Bill's role at South Molton is leading our pre-rider training program, developing and maintaining our certification programs, and one of our principle riders in our experienced Saddle training program.

Non-Equine career:

Bill has BA degrees from the University of Arizona in Accounting and Management Information Systems. He also holds a Masters Certificate from George Washington University in Project Management.

He worked in the Information Technology (IT) field for nearly 25 years where he managed more than $1 billion (US) in high tech projects in 6 continents and over 100 countries.

Personal side:

  • Born and raised on a New Jersey farm
  • Has 2 daughters in Texas
  • Fell in love with Canada while doing a project in Calgary
  • Has lived in New Jersey, Arizona, Texas, London (UK) and now resides in Alix, Alberta
  • He retired from IT fulfilling a lifelong dream to return to country life
