How you bond and communicate with your horse will determine your level of enjoyment of ownership. If for any reason things are not working out during the first 60 days of ownership and you change your mind, you can return your horse for a cash refund or trade in for another horse.

the limitations:
- The horse must be in the same physical, mental and skill level condition they were at the time of sale.
- The horse must be returned to The Stables at South Molton at the buyer's expense.
- The buyer must have successfully completed our structured transition program prior to taking possession of the horse.
- South Molton will quarantine the horse for a 14 day observation period to evaluate the horse's condition before refund or trade-in are finalized. South Molton has the right to extend the observation period for an additional 14 days (28 in total) if we determine it necessary to make a final evaluation of the horse's condition.
- South Molton reserves the right to request a vet inspection for any reason. The vet costs will be deducted from any refund or trade-in.
- The "days" in the chart above start counting on the day you take possession of the horse (day 1).
- Refunds or trade-in credits are limited to the purchase price of the horse and exclude any delivery, boarding or other cost incurred. Any residual cash refund will be determined from the cash refund schedule above. For example, if you return the horse to South Molton on day 25 the cash refund would be 60% of the purchase price.
- When trading in, residual cash refund from schedule above is applied first followed by the trade amount in the schedule above.

We believe it is very important to that your new horse and you get off on the right foot. When the day comes to pick up your horse or take delivery of your horse, plan on spending the day at South Molton.
Just like change effects people. When a horse changes owners and moves away, they will experience stress to some level. We believe that spending quality time with knowledge transfer helps smoothes the transition for both you and the horse.
Additionally, horse owners vary greatly in their level of experience. Fundamentals of successful ownership training is included in every horse purchase which is personalized to each owner's experience level.
We will spend the first day with and do a thorough walk through of all aspect of your horse customized to your needs and level of experience. Typical topics include, but are not limited to the following:
- Detailed coverage of all of the horse's mannerism, likes, dislikes, etc.
- Handling the horse for success
- Establishing your leadership and avoiding development of bad habits
- Haltering in various situations
- General equine handling safety
- Tacking up and tacking down, including adjusting your saddle and bridle to properly fit your horse and you. Including direct observation of the horse's performance under your saddle to ensure appropriateness of fit
- Field/arena rides on your horse with detailed discussions of all the trainer's insights on how to maximize your experience in a variety of riding environments
- Walk through of all your horse's skills, areas of improvement, and next steps in their development
- And of course, any other topics you would like on the agenda

Our commitment to you does end the day you take possession of your horse. We know that over time horses can develop bad habits in transition from one owner to the next. This is especially true for more inexperienced riders. We will continue to be there to help by providing an extended transition period.
Our post sales support includes the following:
- Six free hours of follow-up hands on coaching/training during your first year of ownership, here at the ranch, for you and your horse to work on areas of skill development for you and your horse.

If your delivery date is flexible, we can often times provide delivery of your horse at rates less than commercial carriers. Due to the great amounts of variables to consider, this is something that we will discuss with you at the time of purchase and work with you to help find the a cost effective delivery option.
